Embark on an enthralling expedition into the depths of "Miracles on a Rooftop," a stirring tale that weaves together the intricate threads of love, war, PTSD, addiction, and homelessness, ultimately culminating in the triumph of redemption and restoration.
Join me, a former Marine Corps Sergeant, as I guide you through the harrowing landscapes of combat deployments, painting vivid pictures of the intense and tumultuous battles waged in the deserts of Iraq. Within these recollections lies the heart-wrenching story of my best friend's selfless sacrifice, as he fearlessly threw himself upon a grenade to protect our team, a courageous act that posthumously earned him the prestigious Medal of Honor.
This narrative is a rollercoaster ride of emotions, taking you through exhilarating highs and despairing lows, chronicling the peaks of life's victories and the plummeting depths of rock-bottom despair. As a manager at a dental clinic, I candidly reveal my descent into the clutches of prescription drug misuse, where I exploited my doctor's DEA number to procure excessive pain medication beyond what the VA had prescribed.
This journey does not shy away from the darkest moments of loss, including the shattering of my 13-year marriage, which left me with nothing but the clothes on my back and the shoes on my feet. I lay bare my failures, from a life-threatening overdose that plunged me into oblivion for over seven minutes to my entanglements in car theft and other illicit activities that landed me behind bars.
Within these pages lies an unvarnished depiction of my innermost struggles and triumphs, invoking deep empathy and understanding from readers who witness the tumultuous odyssey of self-destruction and ultimate reclamation of hope and purpose.

Kalie2222 says, "A story you can't stop reading, Mark opens up to us and allows us to see what life was/is like before, during, and after war and how one can love Jesus, loose Jesus and comes back to Him. You can't help but to get emotionally invested, you will cry and laugh and not be able to put the book down. Mark did a great job writing this as if you were talking with him a day to day conversation. If you're not a believer in what God can do or have a rocky relationship with God, this book will defiantly change your perspective. LOVED IT!!! Thank You Mark!!!"
Dolly P says, "Mark Dean delivers one of the best stories I have ever read about real life, love, sacrifice, forgiveness, and restoration. It is so cool to hear the point of view of a highly trained US Marine and see his thought process and the unique circumstances Marines live inside and outside of service. I cried, laughed, and felt everything the author humbly exposed in this book so masterfully. Everyone should read Mark's story. There is so much we can learn about our human nature, our fights, falls and victories but above all read about God's presence and love for us. His stories will push you closer to God! A must read!"
Pat T says, "This is a very awe-inspiring book. Riveting and you can't put it down once you start reading it. It's an amazing story of how God took tragedies and dark times and turned them into triumphs and miracles. It's a story of overcoming great odds and how the perseverance of one man to not let go of God and how God's stubborn love never let him go, brought him through some dark places in his life and kept him alive through things that should've killed him. It's a story of courage. This book will encourage you. It's very well written and a really great read. it will bless you. I hope you will buy one for yourself and discover how God can use whatever happens in your life for His glory."
